AI Content Detector

Inspect sentence-length variation, vocabulary repetition, and common phrases in a text sample. Results cannot establish authorship.

How to Use AI Content Detector

Follow these steps, then review the result and the limitations below:

  1. Paste at least 20 words into the text box.
  2. Click "Run Tool" to inspect sentence lengths, repeated vocabulary, and listed stock phrases.
  3. Read the pattern score and any matched phrases as prompts for manual review.

Practical Worked Example

A passage containing the phrase "in conclusion" will list that phrase as a marker. This alone cannot tell whether a person or a model wrote the passage.

Key Features & Capabilities

  • Shows a transparent pattern score and sentence variation measure.
  • Lists matching stock phrases when present.
  • Processes pasted text in the browser.

What this score actually measures

This page is named AI Content Detector, but its output is a writing-pattern score. The same input and rules give the same score. It is not a trained authorship classifier and does not estimate the chance that a writer used AI.

A phrase such as in conclusion is common in human writing too. Sentence-length variation also depends on genre, language, sample length, and editing. None of these signals establishes authorship.

Use the observations for editing

Look for repeated stock phrases or a sequence of sentences with similar lengths. Revise only when doing so improves clarity. Do not change a natural passage merely to lower the score.

Do not use the result to grade students, reject applicants, accuse a writer, or establish copyright ownership. A tool score cannot replace direct evidence of how a document was produced.

How It Works (Technical Overview)

Browser JavaScript counts words, calculates variation in sentence length and the ratio of distinct words to all words, then checks for a small fixed list of phrases. A fixed rule combines these signals into a pattern score. It does not use perplexity, compare against a training corpus, or verify authorship.

Real-World Use Cases & Applications

  • Editing repetitive drafts by spotting repeated vocabulary.
  • Reviewing sentence rhythm in a long paragraph.
  • Finding stock phrases to consider revising.

Privacy, Security & Accuracy

Short samples, technical writing, and edited text can produce misleading scores. Do not use this result to accuse a writer or make a high-stakes decision.

Pro Tips for Best Results

Use the phrase and sentence-length signals to revise your own writing; verify any authorship claim with direct evidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this prove that text was written by AI?

No. The rules look for writing patterns, not authorship. Human and AI-written text can share the same patterns.

Is the score a probability?

No. It is a fixed heuristic score and should not be treated as a calibrated probability.
