How to Use Image Resizer

Follow these steps, then review the result and the limitations below:

  1. Select a supported static image.
  2. Enter one dimension, both dimensions, or a scale percentage from 0.1 to 1000. Do not combine percentage with dimension fields.
  3. Click Process Image, inspect the dimensions and preview, then use Download Result.

Practical Worked Example

A 120 × 60 image with width 60 and blank height becomes 60 × 30. A 50% scale produces the same dimensions. Entering width 60 and height 60 intentionally stretches it into a square.

Resize an image without guessing its proportions

Enter a width or height to preserve the source aspect ratio automatically. Set both to stretch to an exact rectangle, or use Scale Percentage instead of either dimension. The output is PNG, regardless of the source format.

How It Works (Technical Overview)

The browser draws the decoded source to a canvas at the requested dimensions and exports PNG. One missing dimension is calculated from the original ratio, with pixel values rounded to whole numbers.

Privacy, Security & Accuracy

Upscaling adds pixels but cannot recover missing detail. Exporting a photograph as PNG may produce a much larger file than the original JPEG. Use JPG to WebP for a WebP delivery version. Practical limits depend on browser support and available memory. Files above 20 MiB are rejected; raster processing is limited to 16 million pixels and output dimensions to 8192 pixels per side.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I resize by percentage?

Yes. Leave width and height blank, then enter a scale percentage. A value of 50 halves both dimensions; it does not promise half the byte size.

Is my input uploaded for processing?

The tool code works in the browser. The page can also load advertising or analytics scripts, which have separate data practices. Avoid sensitive files on an unsuitable device or page.
